What AMC said:
Afternoon, Supper Club. I'd like to thank each of you for putting your cell phones in peril and coming to dinner at Kyle's last week. Thanks to Kyle, graduate of M.I.T., for hosting, bartending, and Outlook scheduling me for the "Souper Bowl" every Sunday for the rest of my life. Thanks to Shannon for the delicious dinner. But don't take my word for it! Your reviews are now available, along with menus, and more and more photos on the Supper Club website: www.chewon.org.

What Supper Club says:
The austere, some may say effete, setting of Mr. Steinfelds interiors completely contrasts yet enhances the comforting cooking that harkens back to winter nights made warm by a mom’s nourishing stew. Ms. Johnsons cooking straddles that fine line between domestic assuredness and haute cuisine. This delicate balance is a craft that could easily fail in less able hands yet she has shown repeatedly that this is her domain. - jay

deliciousness drips off of shannon with the carelessness of virgin morning dew - kyle

Shannon confounded with the easy cook label she gave her food. Delicious melt in your mouth beef and guiness soup, crispy cheese and scallion biscuits - it did not taste like food that one would just throw together. I mean the potatoes were perfectly cut each one one inch by about one inch by three eighths of an inch? (Jay measured). With such precision, Shannon's meal was comfort food for new yorkers caught between a blizzard and fashion week. Dessert was gingery and fluffy and warm and I couldn't help going back for seconds so many times I just started eating it out of the pan. Consider me comforted! - evelyn
